Left early, but I'm struggling. My arse really hurts. Think that my saddle sores are now infected. I stopped at a chemist to get some ointments. I will limp along as best I can.
Stopped in Mooirver at the Station Masters Arms. It is a lovely restaurant along the tracks.
Apparently the owner is a retired black judge. Obviously, good work if you can get it.
Ordered the Bunny Chow. Too much of chillies, but nice.
Then the service road disappears and I have to walk over these fields.
...and walk and walk...
From Rosetta the countryside is spectacular, but I'm a little too tired to appreciate it to its fullest.
Ever noticed cows. While they eat, their tails keep sweeping to keep the fly's away. But their tails are too short to keep the fly's away from their faces. What's with that? Do the fly's not go for their faces?
I'm here.
Exhausted.
I've been here 5 minutes when Frank calls. "How many beers have you had?" he asks.
He could see from the GreenAlp app that I was stationary and when he zoomed in, he saw that I was at the Nottingham Road Hotel. Amazing app and nice to know that some of my mates were following my progress.
I have stayed here before and it was pleasant enough. The pub is great and has an interesting mix of people. Some going trout fishing in the winter, off road motor cyclists, tourists and locals other times of the year. The rooms are nice, but it is best known for the Notties pub. I was in the mood for something out of the ordinary and decided not to stay. This I found at Glenshieling Caravan Park.
