Final Day - Ride to San Lameer

Woke on the morning of the final day, feeling a different sense of excitement. If I have a good ride today then I will be at the end of my journey and I will see Eileen and my boys. A large part of our family are also there, waiting. They are a great bunch of people and honestly, if I had been allowed to choose, I could not have chosen better. A crazy bunch of more different individuals you will battle to find, but as a family, we work.
There was just the little matter of 130km's to get home and unfortunately,  close on 100 of these would have to be on the busy N2.
Most of the riding was ordinary and a little scary with the traffic, but there was some spectacular views at the Ingele Forests.

My mate and brother-in-law snuck up on me  after I did the final turn for home near Izingolwene. It was a nice touch and very welcome as he had to help me with a last bit of navigation.
When I see these hills, I know where I am. This is some of the best riding country in the world and when we are here, we are usually on holiday with the family. These hills symbolize great times for me. The last bit of riding was fast and I felt strong.

When I arrived at the gate, I was met by this.

You gotta love them.
And so ended quite an adventure.
998.4km in 107 hours.

Happy Christmas everybody and thanks for all the interest shown in my adventure.
